WelcomeThe Green Party in Cornwall is divided into two organisational groups. The West Cornwall Green Party covers the existing parliamentary constituencies of St.Ives and Camborne & Redruth. We have a group of town councillors in St.Ives and Greens also sit on various parish councils. The Mid and East Green Party covers the rest of Cornwall; the four constituencies of Truro & Falmouth, Newquay & St.Austell, South-East Cornwall and North Cornwall. We are represented on the City Council in Truro and other parish councils. In 2013 we will be contesting the Cornwall Council Election across Cornwall. We are unlikely to have the resources to put up credible candidates in all seats; if you would like to ensure that you have a local green candidate to vote for then please get in touch and help us. In the 2009 Council election we polled up to 22% of the vote in some seats - it is entirely possible that with your help we could get Green Councillors elected to represent you on Cornwall Council. The Green Vision is far wider than 'just' environmental issues. Starting from a strong ecological stance we see implications for all areas of international, national and local policy - Economy, Health, Education, Travel, Food & Farming, Equality, Social Justice, Rights and Responsibilities are all Green Issues on which we have strong words to say. To find out more come along to one of our formal or informal meetings or get in touch with a local contact (details on the left). Without your support there will will be no Green voices arguing for a fairer world for ourselves and generations to come. |
