The Green Vision for Cornwall

In 2009 we produced our manifesto for A Green Vision for Cornwall for the Council Elections which is still available here.

We are now in the process of revising and updating this with specific ideas for the new Cornwall Council to be elected in May 2013.

Ahead of the publication of the full document we set out here some of the basic ideas which inform our vision of a resilient and fulfilling life for people living in this beautiful and unique part of our precious world.

At the top of every page on this site one of the ten core principles of the Green Party is set out. These principles, and the Philosophical Basis of the party underpin our approach to creating a just society which takes full account of our place in the ecology of the world and our responsibilities towards each other and future generations.

Here are, in no particular order, some ideas which flow from these principles:

• It is simply immoral, and therefore wrong, that anyone should profit from the ill-health of another
• It is simply immoral, and therefore wrong, that children's education should be provided for the profit of another.
• Pollution, and waste, should be dealt with as close to the source as practicable and the polluter should pay for the cost of dealing with it.
