Cornwall Manifeso 2010

A Green Manifesto for Cornwall

These are the headline points from our Green Manifesto for Cornwall 2010

  • A dynamic economy: a powerhouse of clean renewable energy sources, with thriving small businesses and independent shops.

  • Excellent local services: easy to access, publicly owned and funded through fair taxes.

  • A more equal society: where all residents have access to affordable homes, rewarding work and safe neighbourhoods.

  • Children and young people getting a great start in life: with improved facilities and free higher education.

  • Older people enjoying more independence and support in later life.

  • A revitalised food economy: offering easy access to fresh, locally grown produce, and supporting family farms and fisheries.

  • A fully integrated transport system: moving people and freight about in an efficient, convenient network.

  • A familiar and distinctive landscape: rich in wildlife, tranquil and free of pollution.

  • More power in local hands: with health and economic regeneration controlled by the local authority, more services devolved to town and parish level, and Cornish senators sent to a directly elected second chamber at Westminster.
